Snowboard bindings
The easiest way is to buy your first snowboard together with the binding. The size of the binding is selected based on the size of the boot. The flex of the binding should harmonize with the flex of the snowboard boot.
Alternative binding systems
In addition to traditional bindings, various manufacturers have come up with new binding systems in recent years. Clew has Step-in, Nidecker has Supermatic and Burton has Step-On, all systems with which you can easily step into the binding.
The best known are probably Burton's Step-On bindings, which initially only worked with Burton boots. However, there are now also boots from Deeluxe and Nitro that are compatible with Step-On bindings. This was the moment when I decided to give the system a chance. In contrast to Clew and Nidecker, the Burton binding has a different approach, which also has an influence on the force transmission to the board.
So that I can have a more informed opinion, I will certainly try out the Step-On binding at the end of the 23/24 season to see if the hype is justified.
